SPY -1.12%, Thank you AHM…

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

You can thank American Home Mortgage for part of today’s market tank. Closed Friday at 10.47, didn’t start trading again until today around 1:30 and closed at 1.04…

2 dividend plays opened today: HCN and ATB. Picked up some RVBD (C-MM*), and then another pick from a paid service.

Got stopped out of AAPL, but still came out ahead overall cause I sold off a good chunk of it after earnings.

Month to Date:
Main trading port: -10.82%
SPY port: -1.22%
Brokerage: -1.87%
BBE Overall: -8.92%
% of Trading Targets reached -101.51%

Today

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Thankfully some recovery today.

2 positions opened – one div play on CRBC (which I will sell @ the open tomorrow), one from the AAP pick service. Added to another AAP pick service position as well.

Going to be doing a few more dividend plays this week – I’ve got another dentist appointment that will kind of have me out of commission, so another day where I won’t be really actively wanting to do anything. Earnings.com has a great dividend tab showing everything going ex-dividend by date. The only shortcoming is that it doesn’t have yields and doesn’t indicate if it is a special dividend or not, so I have to do a little extra data manipulation & research to make sure they’re regular dividends.

Here’s what I am looking at on that front for this week (yields are based on today’s closing numbers)
TMA – .68/share, 2.59% yield
ATB – .59/share, 2.28% yield
DFR – .42/share, 3.66% yield
NRF – .36/share, 3.41% yield

Month to Date:
Main trading port: -8.58%
SPY port: -1.03%
Brokerage: -1.15%
BBE Overall: -7.81%
% of Trading Targets reached -76.08%

Week in Review

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

will be moving to the Month in review…

I’m going to MTD numbers, it’s too easy to get lost in the weeds with weekly numbers.

In short, last week sucked.

Main trading port: -9.41%
SPY port: -2.20%
Brokerage: -2.23%
BBE Overall: -9.04%

Back from the beach and frankly, if this nonsense continues, I’ll never be able to go back.

Took some profits this week

But still have positions in:
CAT, GOOG, CSCO. All positions came via Jim Cramer’s Mad Money show.

Also have decided to go ahead and start unwinding the SPY port and go back to individual stocks there.  I’ve got the time to manage them, so no reason not to.

The last week of May Beach Bunny Enterprises took a big ol’ hit for dental expenses.

Looking at the first week of June going forward to today, I’m right where I was.  Which doesn’t sound spectacular, but it means I am actually making enough to cover my expenses, and that includes the mortgage & such on the damn townhouse.  Once that sucker sells, things are really going to come together.

Week in Review, 7-13

Friday, July 13th, 2007

One hell of a week. Been a while since Beach Bunny Enterprises had two up weeks in a row. Would have been even better overall except I had to get 3 new tires and new brakes for my car. Feeling good about heading out for vacation – nice to leave on a high note.
Good Stuff!
– IFX, exited nicely above target
