Off to a good start
Sunday, August 1st, 2010Of course, when you start these types of projects off, you tend to having things go nicely for at least the first day or two. :)
Kicked off the month w/two bills, “LoJack for Laptops” for 31.99 and 56.00 for domain hosting. The Laptop finder is an annual charge, which is 9ยข a day. Very reasonable given the cost of replacing a stolen laptop. The domains are a monthly charge, and that is $1.84 a day. I cancelled one of them, so that will go down next month. I definitely need to be writing more to make those worth it! ;)
So, we’re at $1.93 a day going out.
Let’s talk income. So far today I’ve got $5.44 coming in from the following sources:
Prosper.com: $3.37
Amazon MTurk: $0.57
SurveyHead: $1.50
Google AdSense: $0.00 (dammit people, click something!!)
Avon Sales: $0.00 (orders don’t come in until later this week)
So for now, things are looking good with a net positive $3.46. :-D Of course, the day is young and I may end up going out tonight, which is another issue altogether.
Now, we’ve got multiple scenarios of how things can proceed:
1. Pay off all debt, let remaining savings ride, earn enough to cover expenses = Work until 80. Not ideal.
2. Pay off debt over time, let current savings ride, earn enough to cover expenses = Work until 59. Much better, as letting the savings ride makes a much better impact.
3. My grandmother dies when the SS mortality tables says she will, pay off debt at that time, earn enough to cover expenses = Work until 50.
4. My grandmother kicks off tomorrow = Work until 47.
3 and 4 are highly unlikely, as I suspect my grandmother will surely outlive her money because she is too ornery to die. ;) So, I’m working realistically with option #2.
Here’s to avoiding a real job! :)
